Everyone at some point in life has tried a version of the blended fruit daiquiri, however the classic daiquiri is by far the superior drink. While blended iced drinks can take the edge off a hot day, the commercial overly sweet versions of this drink with neon-colored slushies filled with icky syrups and artificial flavors can end with mind-spitting hangovers.
However this fresh and quintessential “summer in a glass” drink is at it’s best in it’s original form. Best of all, it’s easy and requires just three simple ingredients. Freshly squeezed lime juice is essential, and we prefer brown sugar syrup for the extra-rich, almost toffee-like sweetness and flavor.
The Classic Daiquiri is also one of the freshest drinks available and an essential rum cocktail everyone should try. Shake the drink vigorously in a cocktail shaker, strain into a chilled coupe glass, garnish with a lime twist and you have a perfect, summery, citrusy refresher.
