Everyone at some point in life has tried a version of the blended fruit daiquiri. However, the classic daiquiri is, in MY humble opinion, by far the superior drink. While blended iced drinks can take the edge off a hot day, often the overly sweet versions of this drink with artifical flavors can end with mind-splitting hangovers.
This fresh and quintessential “summer in a glass” drink is at its best in its original form. Best of all, classic daiquiris are easy to make! They require just three simple ingredients. Freshly squeezed lime juice is essential to this drink. And while simple syrup works, we prefer brown sugar syrup for the extra-rich, almost toffee-like sweetness and flavor.
The classic daiquiri is also one of the freshest drinks available. This essential rum cocktail is one everyone should try at least once. Shake the drink vigorously in a cocktail shaker, strain into a chilled coupe glass, garnish with a lime twist and you have a perfect, summery, citrusy refresher.
